13 th of May to 5 th of June 2010 - Up and down the River Orwell |
Crew : | Helen and Andy | |
Destinations : | River Orwell. | |
Distance : | 66 miles |
After what seems like forever, we had our first trip out with the riggers to tweak the standing rigging and check the new halyards. Sadly we had little of the necessary wind so it wasn't ideal to really put it through it's paces. We agreed to do it again the next time we had any wind. We had intended to go out before this but the only possibility was a very windy day and we didn't fancy trying to get her back into her berth alone. Andy and I managed to go out the following weekend to calibrate the autopilot and had a nice gentle sail. The first time with just us two. We then went out briefly with Andy's mum and sister, Alison, and had a final outing with the riggers on 2 nd June before our planned departure the following weekend. We rescheduled our launch party for 5 th June and were delighted that people were able to come, given the short notice and distance.
