The weather forecast is set to improve. We decided to head along the coast just a few miles today and then further up the coast later in the week. After breakfast, we weighed anchor and motored out of the harbour with the Mizen sail already set. We sailed fairly close hauled for most of the way, the sun was shining and we had good views of Hungry Hill from the east. We found out during our tour that it is known locally as unproductive mountain as it is so rocky. Much of the land around here is poor agricultural land, but very beautiful nonetheless. There were several mooring buoys in the harbour, all empty. We were on our own for the night. We are amazed how few other yachts we see. Those that we do see are mainly Irish, occasionally French and, rarely, British, Dutch and Australian.
