7 th to 9 th of August 2017 - Vigo |
Crew : | Andy and Helen | |
Destinations : | Marine Davila Sport. | |
Distance : | 8 miles |
We weighed anchor at just after 0900. We motored around to the nearest marina to the chandlers where we would be taking our old anchor and collecting the new one. We were alongside by 1100 and had confirmation that the new anchor was where it should be and we could collect it in the afternoon. We took the bikes into the local village, Bouzas, where we had fishy tapas and the best ever Tortilla. On return to the boat the question was whether a 33Kg anchor would fit on the bike. Andy managed it with several ropes and even managed to cycle all the way to the shop without falling off.
VIGO |
We spent a couple of days exploring Vigo by bike and then took a train to Santiago de Compostela, where there were long queues to get into the cathedral so we gave it a miss. The Marina Davila Sport was very exposed to the weather and the boats creaked and strained on their lines. Our walk along the pontoon to go ashore took around 10 minutes so we were looking forward to leaving the marina.
