We had a night on the boat to continue preparations for our next sailing instalment. Andy finished off the wiring of the new solar panels. They have been attached to some marine ply which we cut to size last weekend and was varnished during the week. They are very elegant and hide nicely behind the dodgers when not in use. The rain and thunder meant they didn't generate maximum power this weekend, but they looked very nice!
We have also been through all the lockers and organised these, making an inventory so that we should both be able to find everything we need.That is for as long as we don't put things somewhere for immediate convenience, forgetting to put them in the proper place later! We found a hidden locker that we didn't know about. This will make excellent wine/whisky storage. It was also a good way of finding any leaks and we did just that. We can easily fix this with a bit of Sikaflex before we head off. On Sunday morning, I finally made a trip up the mizen mast. Once I got into the swing of it it wasn't too bad. I was able to take off the old deck floodlight, which hasn't worked for a while. This will need ordering online and of course, require another trip up the mizen mast.
