We weighed anchor at 09.15 and motored out of the river as there was no wind and we had to go against the flood tide. As soon as we got out the wind picked up and we were able to sail down the coast to the Woodbridge Haven safe watermark. A couple of tacks to get a good transit through the channel saw us sailing into the Deben. Unfortunately as we approached Felxstowe Ferry another yacht was coming out and decided they wanted to stay on our side of the channel and pass starboard to starboard. This pushed us slight too far to port so we had to turn on the engine briefly to make the red bouy. However, we turned it off quickly and sailed up to anchor at The Rocks where we were the only boat anchored. By 12.30, and after 3 attempts, our anchor was set and we were ready for lunch. As we had towed the tender we thought we would explore ashore. The wind was picking up and I fell over on the mud so wasn't really dressed for lunch at the Ramsholt Arms. We found a potential going ashore spot and returned to the boat thinking we would try tomorrow.
