As we were now heading east we wanted to catch the opposite tide to the one we had been making an early start for earlier in the cruise, but with tide times advanced by 10 days this once again gave an early departure, locking out at 0615.
The wind was still in the north east so we set off close hauled into a fresh breeze, wind against tide giving a lumpy sea which isn't ideal just after breakfast. As we got out into deeper water the sea calmed down a little and we made good progress taking out to the edge of the TSS then back inshore until we started to see fishing buoys.
Around midday we passed Dungeness, and made the entrance to Dover harbour by mid afternoon for a night in the marina.
