Wednesday 30 th May
We woke to an alarm call of 4am. Plenty of time for breakfast before the taxi came to take us to the bus stop. We got there for 5.15, the bus was due at 5.50 (we like to be punctual). Unfortunately it was delayed so we had a bit of anxiety. However, the queues to check in our baggage at Luton airport were non existent so we were in plenty of time for our flight to Inverness. We were on Speedwell by midday. Andy checked the rigging tension whilst I paid my first visit (of many) to Tesco. We then had an early night.
Thursday 31 st May.
After a leisurely start, as it was raining we went to the chandlers and had lunch in Inverness. We then took Speedwell out for her first sail of the year, our new ensign flying proudly from the stern.
The rain had stopped, so we motored into the wind as far as Canonry point, hoping to see dolphins.
Unlucky, as far as dolphins were concerned, we then sailed back to the Kessock bridge with a bit of a push from the tide.
