We decided to go back down the east coast of Lismore to The Sound of Luing to get some protection from the strong south westerlies. We did a bit more rock dodging and popped between the Creags and Lismore for a bit of variety. We managed to sail, but were aware that we needed to make the tide through Luing and were still some way off. As we left the shelter of Lismore the wind picked up and the sea became more bouncy. At one point we had hail and I was able to try out my special glasses from MacKays as it was too dark for sun glasses. I thought they were pretty cool.
We resorted to engine. As we passed Oban and Kerrera we started to think that Luing with wind against tide in these conditions would be quite unpleasant so we took a detour back to Oban. Everywhere seemed pretty exposed in the bay so we decided against anchoring and picked up another buoy at the marina where we spent the night without going ashore. We had hoped to go down to Loch Sween for our last couple of nights, but now we decided to head to Loch Craignish near Adfern.
