Locked out after breakfast on another grey day. We started off heading up river to see the dockyard from the river, then turned around and made our way back to Slaughterhouse point with a short detour out to the entrance of the Medway, dropping anchor around 2.
Our plan was to take the dingy ashore at Lower Halstow where Davey would pick us up and take us all back to Sally and Davey’s house. Things are pretty shallow at that part of the estuary so we were anchored some way off. We set off with our trusty electric outboard at a gentle pace to save the battery, making the slipway at the yacht club about 20 minutes later. After a walk along a footpath we met Davey in the village and went for a cup of tea.
We'd used about half of the battery's charge getting over so the two of us had a gentle ride back later on, getting back to Speedwell with no incidents and the electric motor still running.
