Today we headed to Ardfern Marina. As we passed Dorus Mor we had a strong tide against us and it was like steering the boat through treacle at 1.5knots. However, once away from it's influence we motored gently up Loch Craignish and found a berth on the pontoon belonging to the seagulls and wagtails, otherwise known as the breakwater pontoon. We pumped up the tender and went ashore to prepare for our trip home. We ordered our taxi for 0645 the following morning and booked ourselves in to the local pub for an evening meal.
We had a marathon train journey home where we discovered the house was still standing. After collecting the car and catching up on washing we drove, via Solihull, back to Ardfern. We arrived back late Friday afternoon and settled onto the boat. After moving to a shore connected pontoon we picked up groceries, diesel and water and awaited a weather window. It rained and rained on the Monday, but the forecast looked good for the Tuesday, so we stayed on the pontoon and made plans for an early start.
