We set our alarm for 0600 and were out of the marina by 0700. There was very little wind again. We had intended to head about 50 miles along the coast to anchor in the river near Aviles. However, as we passed the final headland a sea breeze had finally kicked in and we were having a very pleasant sail. We like to start early in the morning, which means that we often miss the afternoon breeze. We decided to continue on to Gijon since, even at 4 knots, we would be there before dark. We had a lovely afternoon sail and it was only as we started to head south east around Cabo de Peñas that the apparent wind died off. We saw the huge breakwater in the distance and it was a long motor before we finally headed in to the small marina at Musel, just to the west of Gijon town. No one responded to our call on the VHF, but there was plenty of space so we tied up alongside the hammer head and then settled down to a late supper of bread, cheese and wine.
