After a leisurely breakfast we left our anchorage. The wind was forecast to increase to Force 6 from the south and then south west and we wanted to go to Schull for provisions. Since Schull isn't very protected in southerly winds we headed to the sound between Long Island and the mainland and decided to anchor there until the wind went south west. We sailed out of Crookhaven under genoa and mizen and found our transit line to clear rocks in the bay, before heading north through Man of War Sound. We tucked ourselves in to the east of small Coney Island which was sheltered in the south and south westerly winds. As usual we were now on our own again, apart from an old lifeboat on a mooring buoy.
